Professor of the School of Science and Technology of Communication and Policy and the Director of the Center for Science Communication Research and Development at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He was the Deputy Director of USTC School of Information Management and Decision Science, Director of USTC School of Science and Technology of Communication and Policy, Director of USTC Institute of Knowledge Management, and Executive Director of USTC School of Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition, he also served concurrently as a member of the First MPA Education Steering Committee and the rotating chairman of the 307th Session of the Xiangshan Science Conference. Presently, he is serving concurrently as a member of the Expert Committee of the Society for Conservation of Paper Relics in East Asia, a member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Immersive Media Technology under the Ministry of Culture, the Vice President and the Chair of the Science Education Special Committee of China Science Writers Association, the Director of the China Han Paper Research and Development Center, and the Director of the Science Communication Research Center (pending) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
He has presided over more than 60 national, ministerial and provincial projects, such as the "Digitalization of Xuan Paper Based Cultural Heritages and the Comprehensive Demonstration of Cultural Tourism" (funded by the National Science and Technology Support Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology) and the "Chinese Handmade Paper Library" (a Major Project funded by National Publication Foundation). He has published 18 books including The Principles of Expressions, Science Communication and Contemporary Society, Communication Knowledge Management, and Research on China's National Innovation Ecosystem (5 volumes), as well as 80 research papers.
