Director of Beijing Planetarium/Professor of Physics Department, Tsinghua University, graduated from the Department of Astronomy, Beijing Normal University in 1997 with the bachelor's degree, obtained the doctoral degree in 2002, engaged in postdoctoral research at the National Astronomical Observatory from 2002 to 2004, engaged in postdoctoral research in the Department of Astronomy, University of California, Berkeley during 2006-2010, and worked as a teacher at Tsinghua University since 2010. He is mainly engaged in the research of time domain astronomy direction, led the first domestic large visual field time-domain survey project, i.e. TNTS (Tsinghua-NAOC Transient Survey) and PTSS (PMO-Tsinghua Supernova Survey) large visual field time-domain survey project. Hundreds of new exploding supernovae and thousands of variable stars were discovered. Some of the important results include the discovery and further confirmation of two types of evidence for type Ia supernovae used as cosmic probes, dramatically enhancing the accuracy of ranging with supernovae, the discovery of the most exotic supernova explosion in the universe, and the first revelation of transient-state information about white dwarf thermonuclear explosions. He has published more than 90 academic papers in high-level journals such as Science and Nature, and over 400 papers in the Astronomer's Telegram. All these works have been cited nearly 5,000 times. In 2013, he won the subsidies from the National Outstanding Youth Fund. In 2015, he won the "Huang Shoushu Astronomy Award" awarded by the Chinese Astronomical Society. In 2017, he was selected into the three batches of "Ten Thousand Plan" for leading talents by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. Since 2015, he was appointed Director of the Stellar Professional Committee of the Chinese Astronomical Society.
